Marc Abelman says that recycling and composting are important factors to living a eco-friendly lifestyle. ‘The best way is to educate people is to say, hey this is cool and it will benefit us all,” states Abelman.
“Certainly in my climate, Ottawa, having window treatments that block the cold is important,” Maureen Coates states. She also points out that recycling furniture is also something she does and promotes to her clients.
Marc Abelman feels composting needs to be more convenient so people can do it more often. “If you put it in the house somewhere where it is easily taken outside, it would work better,” states the designer. Abelman also says educating children is important about recycling so they start understanding the concept at a young age.
Regarding bringing a bit of the outdoors inside, Jill Ableman says organic furniture is a big trend now such as reclaim wood.
