BLANCO recently headed to Herald Square in New York City to join in the celebration of the 35th anniversary grand re-opening of the De Gustibus Cooking School by Miele located in Macy’s. The colorful #DG35 Media Event hosted over 220 guests including media outlets, celebrity chefs, friends, clients and partners of the cooking school.
Delicious signature hors d’oeuvres such as Ricotta Crositni, Grilled cheese Tramezzini and Tomato Gorgonzola courtesy of Chef/Co-Owner Gabe Thompson of Epicurean Events were passed throughout the night along with perfectly paired wines courtesy of Banfi Wines. The celebration continued with music and dancing before ending off with a delicious dessert selection! Featured desserts included assorted cookies provided by Milk Bar NYC and a stunning Lemon Olive Oil Cake filled with raspberry jam and vanilla butter-cream courtesy of Chef Thiago Silva of the EMM Group. The four-tiered cake was creatively decorated and modeled to look like the De Gustibus Cooking School and even included such details as the Poggenpohl cabinetry and BLANCO ONE™ sink.
Among the event guests were Celebrity Chef Marc Murphy of the Food Network series Chopped, two time Chopped winner James Briscione and Michelin starred Chef Markus Glocker of Batard. Other event sponsors included Voss Water who provided a “wall of water” for the event, Solex fine foods and Robinson’s Prime Reserve. Urbani Truffles along with Illy coffee and L’Occitane contributed to the gift bags.
BLANCO is a proud partner of the De Gustibus Cooking School and provided De Gustibus with a ONE sink and CULINA™ faucet in the demonstration kitchen in addition to quality STEELART sinks and professional series faucets for the chef’s kitchen. To watch a video of the event, click here.
