BLANCO announces five winners of its first annual BLANCO by Design contest. Entrants were required to submit a kitchen or small space design featuring one BLANCO sink and one BLANCO faucet for a chance to win up to $5,000.

The BLANCO by Design contest ran until November 2017 and winners were hand selected by a panel of esteemed design professionals. The five BLANCO by Design contest winners include, Grand Prize Winner awarded to Fred Alsen of FMA Interior Design, First Place – Kitchen awarded to Keslie Muhlenbruch of Minnesota Cabinets, First Place – Small Kitchen Space awarded to Cheryl Kees Clendenon of In Detail Interiors, Honorable mention awarded to Michele Alfano of Michele Alfano Design and Honorable Mention awarded to Karen Kassen of Kitchens Unlimited.
The 2017 BLANCO by Design contest took place from August to November 2017. The contest was judged by design professionals including, Patricia Davis Brown, founder of Patricia Davis Brown Designs; Janice Costa, editor Kitchen & Bath Design News; Jaime Derringer, founder and executive editor for Design Milk; Veronika Miller, founder and CEO of Modenus and Steven Williams, program director for DIFFA (Design Industries Foundation Fighting Aids).
Winning Designs
Grand Prize – Fred Alsen, FMA Interior Design
Fred Alsen chose a BLANCO RONDO™ Bar Sink, a BLANCO SteelArt PRECISION™ MicroEdge Super Single Bowl, a MERIDIAN™ Bar Faucet and BLANCO CULINA™ Semi-Pro faucet for this sprawling contemporary kitchen design. A kitchen built for entertaining, this design utilizes the BLANCO RONDO to double as not only a prep sink, but also as storage for cold beverages – perfect for homeowners who love to entertain.
First Place – Small Kitchen Space – Cheryl Kees Clendenon, In Detail Interiors
Cheryl Kees Clendenon transformed a small space into a unique kitchen filled with bright and colorful elements. Included in this space are floor to ceiling subway tiles, innovative storage solutions and a BLANCO ONE™ sink with a coordinating CULINA™ faucet.
First Place – Kitchen – Keslie Muhlenbruch, Minnesota Cabinets
Keslie Muhlenbruch designed an open layout kitchen complete with a fresh, airy feel. Featuring dark tones and sleek style, Keslie chose a BLANCO IKON® sink and MERIDIAN™ Faucet to bring her design to life.
Honorable Mention – Michele Alfano, Michele Alfano Design
Michele Alfano’s custom kitchen design features a modern farmhouse style with an open concept. This stunning navy blue and white kitchen features a spacious center island complete with a BLANCO IKON® sink and ARTONA™ faucet.
Honorable Mention – Karen Kassen, Kitchens Unlimited
Built for a traditional home with a contemporary and eclectic style, Karen Kassen’s kitchen design combines modern elements with a colorful twist. This sleek, state of the art kitchen is complete with integrated LED lighting, pop up outlets and a BLANCO PRECISION™ R10 Super Single Bowl with a CULINA™ Faucet.
