“And the winner is…” neutrals!

When it comes to choosing a color for your kitchen, neutrals tend to win the game. Lately, greys and whites have been the most popular colors in new renovations. However, some blues and even matte blacks come into play towards the West Coast; particularly in California. Browns and cream tones are also becoming significantly common in design. These on-trend colors are projected to stay popular in kitchen design for the foreseeable future.

Technology in kitchens

In current technology trends today, smart appliances are quickly rising in popularity. Features such as hands-free sensors in faucets are trending. And according to one designer,  technologically savvy products will continue to grow in the future; for example by connecting to Amazon in order to ship you eggs when they’re low. There is no escaping this trend as smart technology will soon be a standard feature in new homes.

Kitchen style

What is biggest trend in kitchen design? According to about 58 percent of those surveyed, transitional design is one of the leading trends in 2018. Transitional designs blend both traditional and contemporary elements in furniture and finishes. Although both styles are consider popular on their own, you will continue to see designers and kitchen experts incorporate transitional styles into new renovations and makeovers.

Trending products and materials

Stone countertops and LED lighting are the two elements in kitchens that are currently trending. Quartz is the most predominant material used in kitchen countertops, as it effortlessly adds a sleek look. As for the future, simpler designs and styles may be what’s next in kitchen design – using clean lines with fewer details easily helps to create these simpler designs. Many think that stainless steel is by far the most popular material in sink designs, however,  stainless steel and granite composite are head to head in popularity.
