Renovation season is here and kitchens everywhere are getting a face lift, new products installed, a few paint jobs and an overall new look. This year’s trend is all about the new neutral — gray. Stunning, versatile and modern, gray kitchens offer a transitional design that is here to stay. Following this widely popular trend, blogger Angela Lerew of Unexpected Elegance is planning her own gray and white kitchen design.
Angela is going after a contemporary and chic kitchen that is both bright and neutral. Instead of taking the traditional route of incorporating gray cabinetry or paint, Angela focused on another element that would bring out the gray trend in a stunning and sophisticated way.
Angela paired white cabinets with BLANCO’s IKON 27″ Farmhouse sink in the brand-new SILGRANIT® color, Concrete Gray. Concrete Gray intelligently blends red and blue undertones with subtle darker speckles to realistically depict natural elements found in real concrete. “It’s a great color that complements a wide range of countertops for a little more of modern design,” says Angela.
The Concrete Gray sink anchors the kitchen design through Angela’s choice of white cabinetry and light toned granite countertops. Choosing the sink as the gray element in her kitchen enables Angela to reach that neutral and timeless style she was looking for, while also creating a bold kitchen area.
