BLANCO is proud to have partnered with Sunshine on a Ranney Day for one of their most inspirational renovations yet.
Sunshine on a Ranney Day is a non-profit organization that renovates homes for children with special needs by incorporating top of the line products, construction and design. Through partnerships and donors, this organization can provide no cost wheelchair accessible renovations for bathrooms, dream bedrooms and small kitchen spaces.
Their latest renovation was for Elizabeth, whose world was turned upside-down when she was diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder and became paralyzed from the waist down. In addition to the physical challenges, the social impact was dramatic because she could no longer easily enter her friends’ homes due to a lack of wheelchair accessibility.
Her one wish was to have a space where she could hang out with her friends – and that wish was granted! Atlanta-based interior designer Barbara Westbrook of Westbrook Interiors helped design a teen suite with an accessible bathroom and “hang-out” space that made it easy for Elizabeth’s friends to spend time with her at home. A BLANCO PRECIS ADA SILGRANIT® sink and ALTA COMPACT™ Pull-Out Dual faucet was selected to create a modern kitchen area that was an accessible space for entertaining her friends. We’re excited to have donated to this worthy project for this inspiring teen.
