Design made by BLANCO
Where aesthetics and function become one
With the BLANCO Design Identity, BLANCO follows a consistent design philosophy. Our design team develops all components for the kitchen water place according to clearly defined principles, bringing aesthetics and function together from the very beginning.
The BLANCO design identity is reflected in lines, transitions, and materials of our products. This gives rise to distinctive design elements that enhance comfort, flexibility, and enjoyment in the daily use of the kitchen waterplace.

The BLANCO DESIGN PROCESS Step by step
Inspiration and ideas
Every BLANCO design process begins with broad trend monitoring that goes far beyond the kitchen industry. International trade fairs, wider developments in living-space design, and targeted market and user analyses form the basis for every new concept. From this, the design team develops concepts that deliberately cover a broad spectrum — from the further development of classic design lines to visionary reinterpretations.
Reality check
In close coordination with Product Management, Development and the international market managers, these concepts are reviewed from the very beginning in terms of aesthetics, technical feasibility and market requirements. The design ambition is deliberately set high, creating room for pragmatic compromises in the further process.
The path to the finished product
From the start of a project to the finished product, BLANCO combines creative design with technical precision. Physical prototypes are created early on in the company’s own workshop — whether through 3D printing or metalworking — to evaluate proportions and tactile qualities before series production begins. Throughout the development of shapes, colours and the selection of materials, the design team consistently follows the principles of BLANCO’s own design identity.
The BLANCO Design Team
Behind the scenes: BLANCO Chief Designer Marcel Moritz shares insights into the team and how it works.
Please describe the BLANCO Design Team and the way you work.
Marcel Moritz: “We are a team of several designers with different areas of focus. In our daily work, we complement each other with our skills and follow a shared, holistic approach. When we start a project, we never think in individual components — regardless of whether someone is developing surfaces or working with colours. Instead, we ask ourselves: How does everything fit together? And how can we make it even better? This is how BLANCO products are created: everything feels as if it has been designed as one — in function, form and colour.”
With the BLANCO UNIT, BLANCO stands for a modular system approach. What is the design challenge here?
Marcel Moritz: “Consistency in design. Not only visually, but also in the proportions, functionality, colours and tactile qualities. Because in the end, it is about how something feels to use. All components of the BLANCO UNIT need to speak the same language — even if they fulfil different functions and come from different development processes.”
Please complete the sentence from your perspective: Good design for BLANCO is ...
Marcel Moritz: “... when our products simply make our customers’ everyday lives better. When the things around us stop raising questions. When you stop seeing the individual parts. When a kitchen water place feels so coherent that you simply work with it without having to think about it. That is good design. That is typical BLANCO.”
Award-winning BLANCO design
Our ambition is to make everyday life at the kitchen water place better. Renowned international design awards confirm that, with the consistent implementation of the BLANCO Design Identity, we are on the right path.
