Twofold winner at IF Design Award for BLANCO

High-quality, functional, perfectly combinable: Superb design for the kitchen water place

BLANCO has once again highlighted its creative prowess in the kitchen water place by winning the prestigious iF Design Award 2022 for two products. The company impressed the 132-member independent international jury of experts with its BLANCO SONEA-S Flexo mixer tap and the BLANCO FWD Max waste grinder.

For Marcel Moritz, Director/Head of Design & Innovation at the BLANCO Group, the awards are a clear reflection of BLANCO’s product philosophy: “BLANCO UNITs are all about convenience and zest for life at the water place in the kitchen. Our now award-winning mixer tap features high-quality, recyclable stainless steel materials and sophisticated technology. It is perfect for combining with the sink and waste management system to create a top-quality BLANCO UNIT.”

BLANCO designer Judith Hepfer chose a clean design and colourway that complements modern kitchen styles for the premium BLANCO SONEA-S Flexo mixer tap. Made of solid stainless steel, it sets striking accents with its brushed surface and versatile black outlet. Features such as convenient hose locking via a magnetic holder, a high outlet for filling large containers with ease and a dual spray for easy switch from aerated stream to powerful rinse spray make all sorts of everyday tasks at the water place that much easier. It also promotes energy saving as the default setting on the SONEA-S Flexo control lever is cold start.

BLANCO is now extending its range for the BLANCO UNIT with the BLANCO FWD (food waste disposer) Max, an organic waste grinder that makes a practical addition to the base cabinet and boasts German-made quality engineering. Designed by Oliver Kuch (BLANCO), the FWD Max is perfect for use with BLANCO sinks and bowls and very easy to install. Docking directly onto the bowl and fitted with a stainless steel grinder, it shreds small scraps of food quickly and powerfully, so that they are fine enough to present no risk of blocking the pipes. The system is controlled conveniently and safely with the push of a button conveniently situated by the sink. The grinder blends seamlessly into the BLANCO UNIT both, in terms of function and aesthetics, and is remarkably user-friendly.

Marcel Moritz says, “When we design a BLANCO UNIT, we only ever ask ourselves one question: how can we enhance quality of life at the water place in the kitchen? If we can make people’s time in the kitchen more pleasant and their tasks easier, then we’ve done a good job. We are delighted that the jury of the iF Design Awards has seen this as well.”
