Filtered and unfiltered water flow separately through different pipes. This means that you can fill the bowl with unfiltered mixed water, perhaps for soaking a casserole dish used the previous day. The particle pre-filter catches larger particles, such as grains of sand or rust fragments. The activated carbon filter reduces oxidants in the water, while also ensuring a long service life for the filter system. A high-performance ion exchanger ensures a good mineral balance, reduces limescale and softens the water. The tiniest particles and suspended sediments are drawn out of the water by a fine particle filter, while activated carbon fleece reduces the level of heavy metals and organic substances such as chlorine or lead. Does a filter mixer tap filter all water that flows through it, i.e. “normal” cold and warm water?

No, only drawable filtered water is provided via the separate rotary switch. “Normal” mixed water (warm and cold) does not pass through the BLANCO filter.

What is the best way to dispose of the filter?

You can dispose of the filter along with your normal household waste. The filter contains carbon, which if fine to throw away.

What are the hoses in the filtering system made of?

The hoses are made of PEX. This material is approved for drinking water and is also used in the drinks industry.
