This past October, BLANCO ran the #BLANCODreamKitchen contest encouraging designers across the country to submit an original hand or digital drawing depicting their idea of what a dream kitchen would look like featuring both a BLANCO PRECIS™ and the BLANCO CULINA MINI™.
With dozens of entries received, BLANCO asked a panel of design professionals to choose the top three designs. In second place, was Milwaukee designer, Lila Guizado and her beautiful kitchen design with a pop of color. We interviewed Lila below to learn all about what inspired her to create this fabulous design.
What was the inspiration for your dream kitchen?
I would say a lot of Pinterest and Houzz! I have always dreamed of a large open concept kitchen with plenty of natural light and some sort of awesome skylight.
Did you face any challenges when creating your design?
Overall, I think it is challenging when designing for yourself. There were so many ideas I wanted to incorporate but at the end I took a step back and put my thoughts together on what would really be my dream kitchen.
How did BLANCO’s products help complement your design?
I appreciate the elegant and modern design of BLANCO’s products and I knew they would fit perfectly into what I was imagining my dream kitchen to be. Since I planned for the sink and faucet to be the center piece of the island, I wanted to use a darker color that would complement and contrast all of the white.
What kind of person or home would your design most fit?
I would have to say the design is versatile enough to fit anyone that either enjoys a clean contemporary/modern or wants more a traditional classic kitchen. Also a big wine person – because it has large wine rack and cooler!
