Oberderdingen, February 6, 2026 – BLANCO is starting the new year with two awards: The German Design Council presented the company with a German Design Award 2026 in gold for its BLANCO UNIT with the LUNEOO faucet and the OOVALON sink. The pioneer in system solutions for kitchen waterplace also received a German Design Award in gold for its new brand identity, which BLANCO has been rolling out worldwide over the past year.
Gold for LUNEOO and OOVALON: "Excellent product design in the Kitchen category"
With the oval OOVALON sink and the iconic LUNEOO-S faucet, BLANCO presented a special BLANCO UNIT last fall that redefines the water place. The delicate, minimalist look of the LUNEOO-S and CHOICE LUNEOO-S ensures seamless visual integration of living space and kitchen. The OOVALON sink impresses with its balance of harmonious, soft shapes and striking contours – while also offering uncompromising functionality. The large CapFlow cover also adds a visual accent and ensures optimal drainage. Made from the innovative material VELGRANIT, the sink combines a silky feel with robustness and ease of care. Together, LUNEOO and OOVALON form a BLANCO UNIT that redefines the kitchen water area with its exceptional design, high-quality materials, and smart functionality.
The jury said: "The clear architectural design language of the 'BLANCO UNIT' makes an aesthetically powerful statement. The lamp-like faucet and velvety basin merge into a harmonious unit whose sophisticated details and smart operating logic are impressive. This harmonious combination of function, material, and design defines a new, contemporary standard for sophisticated work areas."
Gold for the new BLANCO brand identity: "Excellent communication design in the brand identity category"
BLANCO has been presenting itself with a completely revamped brand identity since 2025. The specialist for the kitchen water place is thus reinforcing its claim to enhance the central workspace in the kitchen both functionally and aesthetically. Key elements of the new brand identity are recognizable, characteristic color schemes, expressive fonts, and modern, minimalist imagery that specifically highlights the kitchen water place.
The jury said: "Strong color schemes, expressive typography, and striking imagery characterize the 'New Blanco Brand Identity'. The iconic logo remains a defining feature, while the design consistently focuses on the kitchen sink area. Particularly impressive is the consistent implementation, which creates a clear differentiation and credibly combines high standards of aesthetics, functionality, and brand profile."
BLANCO's head designer Marcel Moritz and global marketing manager Daniela Römgens see the awards as proof of the company's visible development on several levels. Daniela Römgens: "We have evolved from a component manufacturer to a system provider. In doing so, we are establishing the kitchen water place as an independent, high-quality area in the kitchen and making people's everyday lives easier with our perfectly coordinated solutions – from faucets and water systems to sinks and matching organizational solutions for base cabinets. Our new brand identity reflects this, and we are delighted that we were able to convince the jury with it." Marcel Moritz adds: "Our award-winning UNIT, consisting of LUNEOO and OOVALON, speaks a clear and recognizable BLANCO design language. We also demonstrate that the BLANCO UNIT offers many design options for setting up a kitchen water place."
